Inter wing back Ashley Young is the only player to have secured his spot in the squad, as the Nerazzurri look for reinforcements for that area of the pitch, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the 35-year-old Englishman, who joined the Nerazzurri from Manchester United in the January transfer window, has quickly managed to convince coach Antonio Conte of his capabilities and will receive a contract extension for next year soon. The ongoing Coronavirus emergency has stalled the talks but it is clear that Young will remain in Milan for next season.
Inter have identified players that they would like to sign in order to reinforce the department, the report continues. Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri are the players at the top of the list, but the Nerazzurri are aware of the difficulty of negotiating with the Blues. Other alternatives include Barcelona’s Nelson Semedo and Junior Firpo, who could be included in the deal for Lautaro Martinez.
