Former Inter strikers Christian Vieri and Antonio Cassano discussed Brazilian striker Ronaldo on Instagram earlier today, highlighting the player’s incredible ability to score. Their words were noted by Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

First, Cassano discussed the former Inter and Barcelona striker, discussing their time together at Real Madrid.

“A stratospheric player, he is the real and only Ronaldo. He was out of this world, I remember he trained whenever he wanted. Now we often use the word ‘phenomenon’. He was an incredible thing, as strong as he was, guys, he shot from the edge of the box with simplicity, left or right.”

He then highlighted how the player could have been one of the best players of all time if he didn’t suffer his multiple knee injuries.

“Great quality, he’s the best centre forward in history. He scored more than 600 goals and broke his knees. Two World Cups, two Golden Balls, imagine what it could have been like with healthy knees.”

Vieri, who played with the Brazilian striker at Inter, agreed with Cassano’s praise.

“When I went to Inter, after the first two training sessions I thought ‘what is this? Who is this guy?’ An alien.”

Ronaldo joined Inter from Barcelona in 1997, breaking the world transfer record at the time. The Brazilian striker would go on to make 98 appearances across all competitions for the Nerazzurri across five seasons. In that time, he scored 59 goals and provided three assists. His time in Milan was impacted heavily by serious knee injuries. In his final three seasons with Inter, Ronaldo only made 24 appearances, missing the entirety of the 2000/01 season.
