Former Roma midfielder Ricardo Faty discussed his former Bayer Leverkusen teammate and Inter target Arturo Vidal in a live broadcast on Instagram earlier today. His words were noted by Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.
“If he were to leave the Spanish club in the future, I think he would go and play for Inter. That’s because he has a great relationship with the coach, Antonio Conte.”
Vidal is the Nerazzurri’s top transfer target for the summer, as coach Antonio Conte is looking for specific players to fit his tactical system. The former Juventus and Chelsea coach has been looking to sign the 32-year-old Chilean midfielder for a year now, keen to be reunited with his former player.
Vidal, who is contracted to Barcelona until 2021, has made 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1414 minutes. In that time, he has scored six goals and provided three assists, but has struggled to earn consistent minutes under both former coach Ernesto Valverde and current coach Quique Setién. Vidal has only started eight times this season in the league and has only played the full 90 minutes of a game three times.
