European champions Liverpool have interested in signing Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the English newspaper the Mirror.
The report details how the Reds have contacted the Croatian midfielder’s representatives on the instructions of coach Jurgen Klopp, who appreciates the qualities of the 27-year-old midfielder. Brozovic is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022 and has a €60 million release clause attached to that contract.
Inter have no interest in letting Brozovic leave, the report continues. The club are working on a new contract that would increase the Croatian midfielder’s salary and remove the release clause from his contract, as they are keen to ensure that the player will remain in the project for years to come.
Brozovic has made 32 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2715 minutes. In that time, he has scored three goals and provided five assists, being a core part of coach Antonio Conte’s system.
