Rapid Vienna teen sensation Melih Ibrahimoglu has shared his delight at the rumours linking him to other clubs in the past few days.

The 19-year-old central midfielder, who is under contract with the Austrian capital club until the end of next season, has been linked with Inter, Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Werder Bremen as of late and Chelsea have also been linked with him in the past few months as well.

“It makes me proud to see my name linked with teams such as Inter, Werder Bremen, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray from the Super Lig,” he explained in an interview with Turkish news outlet Skor.

“I like playing football more when I hear or see the links. When I see my name in the media I pay more attention, I work more.”

The youngster also revealed his desire to represent Trabzonspor in the future, due to the fact he is from Trabzon.

“Every footballer wants to play in Turkey, I hope it happens. I wear number 61 and since I am from Trabzon, it feels more special and I love it more. I have went to Trabzon a few times and I would like to play for Trabzonspor and make my family and friends proud.”

This season Ibrahimoglu has made two substitute appearances at first team level for Rapid Vienna, who are currently in third place, seven points off of league leaders LASK Linz.

The two-time Austrian under 19 national team player has however been unable to make any goal contributions in his brief time on the field so far.
