Several players across Serie A, including some from Inter, are awaiting news on what will happen with their expiring contracts given the extraordinary circumstances according to a report in today’s print edition of Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The season is currently on hold due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and like every year there are players who have contracts which expire at the end of June.

However, given the circumstances it remains completely unknown whether they will be allowed to walk free if they do not sign an extension with their current employers or if they will have their contracts extended until the end of the 2019/20 season, whenever that may be if it starts up again.

The report goes on to highlight that Inter duo Daniele Padelli and Borja Valero are both keeping a close eye on developments and the likes of Inter target Dries Mertens, Jose Callejon and Gianluigi Buffon are too.
