Inter only had four players who suffered from flu like symptoms at the turn of the year, not almost the entire first team squad as Inter striker Romelu Lukaku had claimed in a recent interview according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.
In an interview with Belgian television presenter Kat Kerkhofs via social media platform Instagram, Lukaku claimed that 23 of the 25 Inter first team players were ill at the turn of the year, a claim which was especially alarming although Sky Sport Italia state it was nowhere near as bad as that.
Milan Skriniar was the first to have flu like symptoms and had to come off in a match against Cagliari as a result. He then missed the next game against Fiorentina as a result, as did Danilo D’Ambrosio and Stefan de Vrij.
The only other player to have flu like symptoms was young centre back Alessandro Bastoni, who missed the match against Lazio in the middle of February.
