Inter defender Antonio Candreva has taken to photo sharing social media platform Instagram to share an image of a health worker with customised personal protective equipment.
The health worker, who is helping in the fight against the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic, has customised his gear with Candreva’s name and number on the back and Candreva has admitted to being honoured by his actions.
This season Candreva has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored four goals and tallied six assists.
He posted: “When the boy sent me this in private, I felt a little embarrassed to see my name on the shoulders of such great people and the hospital of Brindisi.
“I am honoured and thank you, but I think you should put your name on the back and maybe the number of people you have treated and sent home to their loved ones because you are the real heroes. Thank you very much for all that you are doing.”
