Brescia president and owner Massimo Cellino has revealed that he has promised Sandro Tonali that he will be given the first choice to decide his future with the club.
Highly rated Tonali has drawn links to a number of clubs in recent weeks with Inter and Juventus both understood to be long term admirers of the Italian national team midfielder.
A report yesterday even claimed that Barcelona are ready to offer €60 million plus two young players for him and Paris Saint Germain are willing to offer even more than that for the 19-year-old sensation, who has been likened to legendary Italian national team midfielder Andrea Pirlo.
“There are many big clubs after him, but I haven’t begun any negotiations because I made him a promise,” Cellino remarked in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Sportiva last night.
“I promised him that he could make the first choice on his future and then I would evaluate the conditions. My dream is to secure Serie A safety and keep him for at least another year.”
This season Tonali has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date for La Rondinelle, who he has a contract with until the end of next season, which contains an option for Brescia to extend it by a further year.
In little over 2100 minutes, he has scored one goal and provided five assists for his teammates.
