In the coming weeks Samir Handanovic will sign a contract extension with Inter according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

The 35-year-old, who is both Inter’s number one goalkeeper and club captain, has a contract with the club until the end of next season and he will soon put pen to paper on a contract extension until the end of the 2021/22 season.

Inter and the former Udinese shot-stopper have already come to an agreement over a new contract and all that is missing is Handanovic’s signature before it can be officially announced.

The Slovenian international joined Inter back in the Summer of 2012 and he has been virtually ever present for the club ever since.

In his nearly eight years with the club Handanovic, who was named captain little over a year again when Mauro Icardi was stripped of the captaincy, he has made 324 appearances across all competitions and kept 114 clean sheets.
