Inter have tabled a contract extension offer to Lautaro Martinez that will see him double his wages according to a report from Spanish news outlet Sport.

Inter saw their first offer knocked back by the 22-year-old Argentine national team striker and the Nerazzurri club have come back with a new offer which will see his annual salary doubled from €2 million to €4 million.

As part of the new contract proposal, Inter have also removed the €111 million release clause which is in his current contract, which runs until the end of the 2022/23 season.

The player has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona for some time now and the report claims they have not been deterred by Inter’s attempts to agree fresh terms with the player.

Barcelona, as per the report, are willing to offer him around €7 million a year and wish to do a player(s) plus cash deal for the player, who has scored 16 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions this season.
