Signing Inter striker Lautaro Martinez remains Barcelona’s priority for the Summer transfer window but the Spanish side are looking at alternatives in case they cannot sign him according to a report from Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The 22-year-old is seemingly the Blaugrana’s number one transfer target and he has a €111 million release clause in his current contract.

Barcelona however do not wish to pay the clause, which must be paid in full no more than a week after being activated and are instead thinking about doing a player(s) plus cash deal for the Argentine, who they have reportedly offered a contract to with an annual salary of €10 million.

As per the report, Barcelona management met with the father of RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner prior to the ongoing pandemic beginning.

Werner, who has a €60 million release clause, is highly sought after with it understood that Liverpool are keen on him as are Inter as a possible replacement for Lautaro.
