Inter manager Antonio Conte wants several players brought in that are on the same or almost the same level as many of the current starters according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has come up with a list of targets based on Conte’s desire and has various players in mind for each department.

Starting with the defence, Inter could bring in Emerson Palmieri to bolster at full back from Chelsea. In the event Diego Godin is to depart, Inter may also move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Jan Vertonghen, who is set to become a free agent in a matter of months.

As for the midfield, Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal, Bayern Munich’s Corentin Tolisso and Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa are all targets.

When it comes to the attack, it is between Napoli’s Dries Mertens and Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud, both of whom could become free agents. As things stand the Belgian is favoured more.
