Pablo Boselli, the agent of Nacional and Uruguay under 23 national team attacking midfielder Santiago Rodriguez, has welcomed the reported interest that Inter have in his client’s services.

“Inter are a great team where many South American attackers have been successful in the past. It is great that Rodriguez is being linked to such an important club,” he explained in an interview with Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

He proceeded to reveal that there are talks taking place with a number of clubs at the moment but he refused to name any names.

“We are talking to various clubs in Europe at the moment but given the current situation nothing concrete can be said.”

He was then asked if he believes his client has the ability to swap Uruguayan top flight football for football in Europe somewhere.

“Yes. When a player manages to emerge in the first division in Uruguay, as a starring figure at an important club, winning the championship and being decisive in several games, I think he is ready to face new and more demanding challenges.”

In conclusion he was asked how much clubs could expect to pay for his client but he admitted that it is not down to him to determine the value of the 20-year-old.

“You must ask the club’s directors directly about his price. I wish to add that he is a player who has his feet firmly planted on the ground, loves his family, has a lot of personality and a lot of hunger to grow day after day.”

This season Rodriguez has made five appearances across all competitions to date prior to football being stopped pretty much everywhere in the world due to the Coronavirus pandemic. He has scored one goal in almost 300 minutes on the field.
