Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s father Mario Jose Martinez has shared his belief that his son has achieved what he has so far in his brief career thanks to the positive mentality that he has.
The 22-year-old is widely regarded as one of the most promising young players out there at the moment and in the past few weeks and months he has drawn very strong links with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona, who reportedly see him as their number one target and the ideal long term successor to Luis Suarez.
“I think he has reached the top due to his positive mentality,” Martinez senior remarked in an interview with Spanish news outlet Marca.
“Since he was a child he had clear goals, he had the dream of playing at the top of football. He always goes step by step and has short-term goals in mind and knows that everything is based on commitment, respect and humility.”
Lautaro joined Inter in the Summer of 2018 from Superliga Argentina side Racing Club and is under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season.
This season the Argentine national team player has made 30 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 16 goals and provided four assists.
