Chelsea are interested in Inter target Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, according to a report from international broadcaster ESPN earlier today.
The report details how the Blues have identified the Gabonese striker as the ideal player to reinforce their attack next season.
Both Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi are more rotational players, leaving English starlet Tammy Abraham as the only guaranteed starter. Coach Frank Lampard wants to strengthen the department and provide Abraham a strong partner up front.
Inter are also interested in signing the Arsenal striker, the report continues. Aubameyang’s contract with the Gunners expires at the end of next season and a contract renewal doesn’t seem likely. His evaluation has already dropped to €70 million due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, giving interested clubs a chance to secure his signature for a lower price.
The 30-year-old has scored 32 goals across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2711 minutes. In that time, he has scored 20 goals and provided one assist.
