Inter wing back Antonio Candreva celebrated Italian Liberation Day with a post on his official Instagram page yesterday.
Candreva uploaded a photo of himself and his family alongside the caption: “Liberation. Today I can only think about what has happened to us.
“Never before have we shown ourselves as patriotic, united and proud of our great country, Italy. From this sad pandemic I will not forget the strength and unity that we Italian citizens have brought out.
“Each in their own way. Flags displayed outside houses, people singing on balconies, couples in love dancing, artists performing, endless gestures of liberation!
“Free yourself from fear, free yourself from all sad thoughts, free yourself from this damn virus. Able to dream of freedom, closer and closer! Long live Italy!”
The 33-year-old Italian, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2021, is a core part of coach Antonio Conte’s squad, instantly showing improvement under the Lecce born coach. The former Lazio man has made 26 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1805 minutes. In that time, he has scored four goals and provided six assists.
