Roma are interested in signing two Inter targets, Junior Firpo and Jan Vertonghen, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the Giallorossi are keen to sign the 23-year-old Firpo, who is contracted to Barcelona until 2024. The player would cost around €25 million and the Roman club would look to help fund the deal by selling 27-year-old Italian midfielder Leonardo Spinazzola. Inter are also interested in Firpo and he could be included in a possible deal for Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez.
Roma would also look to sign Vertonghen on a free transfer in the summer, the report continues, especially important given how complicated it is to make Chris Smalling’s move to Rome permanent. The Belgian defender’s contract expires with Tottenham at the end of the season. The Giallorossi are also interested in Inter wing back Cristiano Biraghi, who is owned by Fiorentina.
