Several Serie A clubs have no intention of returning to the pitch and want the remainder of this season to be cancelled according to a report in today’s print edition of La Repubblica.

Last week clubs voted unanimously in favour of resuming and finishing the season but the situation appears to have changed and further chaos now looms.

The report claims that Torino and Brescia and some major clubs, who are not named in the report, would like the rest of the season cancelled and for the new season to start in September.

Yesterday Italian prime minister Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Conte confirmed that teams could return to full training from May 18.

The report goes on to claim that the season could resume at the start of June and finish at the end of July but the report states that there are growing doubts about the situation which is becoming increasingly complex for those in power to deal with.
