Legendary Italian football manager Fabio Capello has stated that if he were Lautaro Martinez he would opt to remain at Inter.

For a number of months now the Argentine national team striker has been heavily linked with a Summer transfer switch to LaLiga giants Barcelona and he has also been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea too.

The 22-year-old has a €111 million release clause in his contract with Inter and reports have suggested that Barcelona would prefer to do a player(s) plus cash deal for the former Racing Club player instead.

“If I were in his place, I would remain at Inter. By going to Barcelona he risks becoming antechamber,” Capello remarked in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

This season Lautaro, who has a contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 2400 minutes on the field, he has scored 16 goals and has provided four assists for his teammates.
