Inter legend Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi has shared his belief that Mauro Icardi would be better suited alongside Romelu Lukaku at Inter than he would be with Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.

Icardi is currently out on loan at reigning French champions Paris Saint Germain and they have an option to sign him up on a permanent basis for a sum of €70 million.

If they do not take up the option, he will return to Inter and it has been widely reported that Juventus would be willing to enter into negotiations with their arch rivals for the 27-year-old as they look to bolster their attacking department.

“This year Ronaldo has scored 21, Dybala five and Higuain seven. Ronaldo needs the box but Icardi would not leave it to him,” Bergomi, who spent his entire career with Inter, remarked in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia earlier on today.

“Juve almost always plays the same. Tactically speaking, Icardi would be more compatible with Lukaku than with Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Whilst in the French capital, Icardi has made 30 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 20 goals and provided five assists for his teammates.
