In an interview with Italian news outlet FCInter1908.it, Borja Valero’s agent Alejandro Camano has confirmed that he is yet to hold talks with Inter over a new contract for his client.
“Borja is doing very well. He is at home, like all of Italy and he is sad about the great suffering of the country that has given him so much affection,” he began the interview.
He was then asked about his client’s relationship with former Italian national team and current Inter manager Antonio Conte.
“They have an excellent relationship. Borja speaks very intimately with the coach, the relationship is very good and professional, Borja did what he had to do, humbly accepted his situation and worked to change it.”
Next he was asked whether he has held any talks with Inter over a new contract for his client and whether the possible resumption of the season could affect things.
“No. For the moment we haven’t talked about anything. There is a lot of uncertainty about the future, we will see what will happen.”
He was then asked if he is aware if his client has given any advice to teammate Lautaro Martinez, who continues to be linked with Barcelona.
“I don’t know if they have talked about this but Borja thinks that Lautaro is about to become one of the most important players in the world.”
Next he was asked how his client would feel if Inter were to give him a new contract.
“Borja will be very happy if Inter decide to renew his contract.”
In conclusion he was asked if he is expecting a call from Inter.
“Everything will be done at the right time, today the important thing is that the number of deaths and infected people decreases in Italy, Spain and the rest of the world. Personal situations take a back seat. The important thing is to get out of the health situation, so football can start again.”
This season the 35-year-old has made 15 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored two goals.
