The signing of Lautaro Martinez from Inter is a priority for Barcelona in the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report from Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona want to sign a complete number nine and the 22-year-old Argentine national team player is their top target in this regard with RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner the alternative to him.

The Blaugrana club will attempt to sign the former Racing Club player in a player(s) plus cash deal from the Nerazzurri club, who are said to only be willing to let Lautaro go if his €111 million release clause is triggered.

Other reports have stated that Inter have told Barcelona they can sign him for €90 million plus Arturo Vidal on a permanent basis and Antoine Griezmann on a season long loan but it is understood Barcelona do not wish to meet these demands.

This season Lautaro has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 16 goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
