Diego Godin will attempt to change Inter manager Antonio Conte’s mind about him if the 2019/20 Serie A season is to resume according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

The experienced Uruguayan national team defender has struggled in his first season with the club following his arrival on a free transfer this past Summer after the expiration of his contract with Atletico Madrid.

Several reports in recent weeks and months have suggested that Godin could depart Inter just one year into a three year deal and many other reports state that Inter are looking for defensive reinforcements in the upcoming Summer transfer window which certainly does not bode well for Godin, who lost his place in the side to Alessandro Bastoni before football was brought to a halt.

Inter’s top two targets for the heart of the defence as per reports in the media are Hellas Verona youngster Marash Kumbulla and Tottenham Hotspur and Belgium national team player Jan Vertonghen.
