Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli has stressed his commitment to Fiorentina amid continued links with moves elsewhere ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old, who has been a complete revelation this season, has drawn links to Inter and Juventus in recent weeks and clubs like Roma and AC Milan have also been linked with him among others.

Castrovilli however does not appear to be fazed by all the reported interest in his services and appears to be planning to stay with Fiorentina for a long time.

“It’s wonderful to have the esteem of president Commisso as well as directors Barone and Prade. They made me feel very close to them from the first day and this was also seen through the extension of my contract until 2024,” he explained in an interview with Corriere dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

“It would be a dream for me to become a Fiorentina icon,” he continued.

The Italian national team midfielder then further reiterated his commitment to the club by admitting he would love to repeat the career that Fiorentina legend Giancarlo Antognoni, who is now a director at the club.

“I’d like to retrace his career, living in Florence. I’ve learned perfectly what he represents for this city. Having a direct relationship with him makes me want to grow more and more.”

This season Castrovilli has made 26 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored three goals and provided two assists for his teammates.
