Inter linked Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Charles Aranguiz has put an end to recent speculation regarding his future by putting pen to paper on a new contract with the club, the Bundesliga outfit have confirmed.

The Chilean national team player’s contract with Die Werkself was due to expire at the end of the current campaign and as a result he drew links to several clubs who were seemingly interested in signing him on a free transfer.

Aranguiz, who was also linked to Fiorentina and Atalanta, will however not be available on a free transfer in a few months time after he today agreed to a three year contract extension with the BayArena outfit, who he has plied his trade for since 2015.

The 31-year-old, who was formerly of Udinese, has made 27 appearances across all competitions to date this term. In almost 2200 minutes on the field, Aranguiz has scored three goals and provided six assists.
