RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has rejected the chance of a move to fellow Bundesliga club Bayern Munich due to having his sights set on a move to Liverpool according to a report from German news outlet BILD.

The 24-year-old German national team player has been one of the most prolific goalscorers in Europe in recent seasons and looks set to depart RB Leipzig in the upcoming Summer transfer window after four years with the club.

Bayern Munich have shown a keen interest in signing Werner, who has a €60 million release clause in his current contract, which runs until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Inter have also been linked with making a move for Werner with reports in the media suggesting Inter could move for him as a replacement for Lautaro Martinez, if he leaves the club amid continued links to Spanish giants Barcelona.

This season Werner has made 36 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 27 goals and tallied 12 assists.
