Inter and AC Milan will meet with the Milan City council next week to discuss the new stadium project, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the two Milanese clubs will meet with the City council on Tuesday to discuss the commercial areas of the new stadium project and the effect of the Coronavirus situation on the project’s plans.

The Westfield Milano project has been cancelled or suspended for the time being, due to the financial impact of the pandemic, and so clarifications are needed.

Both Inter and AC Milan have already agreed that the existing San Siro will not be demolished, the report continues, and instead will be renovated to be a public access sporting arena.

There is optimism between all parties that a deal can be reached and progress can resume after the end of the Coronavirus emergency, which is still keeping Italy in a lockdown.
