Napoli president and owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has issued Dries Mertens with an ultimatum regarding his future with the club according to a report from Italian newspaper Il Mattino.

Napoli have offered the Belgian national team attacker a contract extension and De Laurentiis has told Mertens to take it or leave it.

In the event that he does not accept the €4 million a year offer, he could well land at a number of clubs who are ready to sign him on a free transfer.

Inter, Chelsea, Roma, Newcastle United, AS Monaco and most recently AC Milan have all been linked with making a move for the former PSV Eindhoven player, if he lets his contract runs out with the Stadio San Paolo club.

This season Mertens, who has been with Napoli since the Summer of 2013, has made 29 appearances across all competitions in which he has scored 12 goals and provided six assists for his teammates.
