Legendary former Inter striker Hernan Crespo has shared his desire to see Lautaro Martinez remain with Inter for a few more years yet.

Lautaro has been continuously linked with a Summer transfer window switch to La Liga giants Barcelona who have seemingly identified him as one of, if not their top target.

The highly rated 22-year-old joined Inter in the Summer of 2018 from Superliga Argentina side Racing Club and has a contract with Inter until 2023, which contains a €111 million release clause in it.

Barcelona however are intent on doing a player(s) plus cash deal for the Argentine national team player, who has also drawn links to the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain.

“I would love for Lautaro to stay for a thousand reasons. He’s in a big team and doing two or three years like this is good,” he told Goal.com.

“You have to live with that pressure of having to play at that level all the time. You need a balance that you can get if you stay in the same place.

“It seems to me that it would do him good to stay in that sense. He is young and has had many changes.”

This season Lautaro, who has formed a fierce strike partnership with Romelu Lukaku, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date. He has scored 16 goals and provided a total of four assists to his teammates.
