Inter president Steven Zhang will wait to see if Lautaro Martinez will ask to leave the club amid continued links to Spanish giants Barcelona according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

For a number of months now Barcelona have been linked with making a Summer transfer window switch for the 22-year-old Argentine.

Lautaro has a €111 million release clause in his current contract with Inter but Barcelona cannot afford to pay this and instead wish to do a player(s) plus cash deal for him.

For the time being Lautaro has not said anything but if he is to ask to leave the club then direct negotiations between the two clubs could then begin.

The Argentine national team forward, who has a contract with Inter until 2023, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which he has scored 16 goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
