Inter and AC Milan hope to complete their new stadium project by 2024 according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri and Rossoneri clubs presented new concept designs yesterday and sent revised plans to the Milan city council to look over.

Within a month and a half’s time, the clubs should receive the green light to proceed with their project which the report claims the club’s owners are ready to invest in excess of €1.2 billion into.

The new stadium, which will replace San Siro, will have a capacity of between 60,000-65,000, be more modern and functional and will also allow the clubs to generate profit immediately.

As soon as the new stadium is ready for use, work will begin on tearing down San Siro, parts of which will remain and be incorporated into the project which is also set to include plenty of green space, shops and other things.
