Paris Saint Germain have decided that they will take up the option to sign Mauro Icardi on a permanent basis from Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Icardi has satisfied club management with his performances since his arrival on a season long loan from Inter which came with a €70 million option to buy attached.

Paris Saint Germain would be keen to get a discount on the 27-year-old given the Coronavirus crisis but Inter are not willing to give the French champions a discount.

Signing Icardi up on a permanent basis has become a priority for the Ligue 1 side and the report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to state that with Paris Saint Germain unwilling to pay the €70 million, the two clubs could find a new agreement and it could well be a player(s) plus cash deal with the report adding Julian Draxler could be sent to Inter.
