Italian Broadcaster Sky Have Reiterated That They Will Not Pay Final Instalment Of TV Rights

Sky sent a letter to Lega Serie A and the clubs yesterday reiterating that they will not pay the sixth and final instalment of the TV rights, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the League have called for a meeting for next Wednesday, where the most important topic will be that of TV rights. Yesterday evening Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia confirmed that they will not pay the final instalment of this season’s TV rights, complaining that they have not received any counterproposals.

19 out of the 20 Serie A clubs have already issued invoices to the broadcaster, the report continues, and will ask for the contracts to be respected, although this is unlikely. No alternative ideas have been suggested as the clubs have all been focused on returning to the pitch, but next week TV rights will be the main focus.
