Inter have taken to photo sharing social media to recall five things fans may have forgotten about the club’s famous 2009/10 treble winning season.

The Nerazzurri became the first Italian club in football history to clinch a treble consisting of the Serie A title, Coppa Italia and Champions League that season and they remain the only Italian club to have achieved this feat to this day.

The club have recalled things concerning the likes of Maicon and Javier Zanetti.

They posted: “5 THINGS YOU MAY NOT REMEMBER FROM THE TRIPLETE

1) Once, Maicon scored two extraordinarily difficult and important goals within the space of four days: on 16 and 20 April against Juventus and then Barcelona;
2) Javier Zanetti played 55 out of the 57 games in the Treble-winning season;
3) In the 2009/10 season, Julio Cesar didn’t miss a single minute in Serie A and defended the Nerazzurri goal for 3420 minutes out of a possible 3420;
4) From Barcelona to Madrid, Samuel Eto’o first played a match full of sacrifices as he played wide left after Thiago Motta’s sending off to help the defence, then he spurred the team on at the Bernabeu with his speech before the final: “Either we die on the pitch and take home the trophy, or we die because we didn’t bring it to Milan.”
5) The relativity of space and time: first there was the never-ending six minutes plus added time of Barcelona vs Inter, then there was the Icelandic volcano, Eyjafjallajokull, that forced Barcelona to travel to Milan by coach and made Inter depart to Madrid earlier, which increased the build-up to the final to three days.”
