RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner is Inter’s first choice option to replace Lautaro Martinez, should he depart the club in the coming months according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Lautaro has been heavily linked with a Summer transfer window switch to Spanish giants Barcelona and should he go Inter will not be found unprepared.

The Nerazzurri will swoop in for Werner but face competition from several other clubs although that competition has decreased recently with Werner admitting he wants to leave the Bundesliga which has therefore ruled Bayern Munich out from signing him.

Juventus, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United have all however also been linked with making a move for the 24-year-old German national team forward, who has a €60 million release clause in his current contract.

This season Werner has made 36 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 27 goals and provided 12 assists for his teammates.
