Former Chilean national team manager Juan Antonio Pizzi has shared his belief that Inter would be the ideal club for Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal to join if he opts to leave the Blaugrana.

In recent weeks and months links linking Vidal with a switch to Inter have resurfaced and a number of reports have suggested that Inter could well acquire him as part of a deal that would send Lautaro Martinez to Barcelona, who seemingly want to do a player(s) plus cash deal for him.

“Italian football is the ideal environment for the characteristics Arturo Vidal. If he decides to leave Barcelona, I think a move to Inter would be ideal for him,” Pizzi, who managed the Chilean national team between 2016 and 2017 remarked in an interview with Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.it.

He then went on to talk about Alexis Sanchez who has had a rather forgettable loan spell at Inter from Manchester United this season.

“He showed the best version of himself are Arsenal and the Premier League is probably the best league for him to be in. He has to get back to believing in his enormous qualities as he has everything to be a top player again.

“He needs a coach who knows him, who gives him confidence and reassures him. He has to recover and be aware that consistency is found over time.”

Pizzi, who played for Barcelona between 1996 and 1998, then went on to state that he thinks Lautaro is indeed ready to make the jump from Inter to Barcelona.

“I think he has incredible potential and that he represents the type of striker perfect for their philosophy. He participates very well in the build up and has a huge instinct in front of goal. If he decides to move to the Azulgrana, I’m sure he would do very well.”
