Inter have no interest in acquiring Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti for several reasons according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

A recent report suggested that Barcelona would be willing to offer the 2018 World Cup winning centre back to Inter as part of a deal for Milan Skriniar but Inter are not interested in such a deal taking place as they are not interested in the former Lyon player.

The main reason Inter are not interested is because Umtiti is left footed and Inter would prefer to continue to show faith in their current left footed centre back Alessandro Bastoni and either bring in Jan Vertonghen, Marash Kumbulla or Armando Izzo as cover for him.

The feasibility of a deal given Barcelona’s financial problems is also a reason Inter are not interested.

This season Umtiti has found playing time limited to just 16 appearances across all competitions to date with foot and knee injuries playing a big part in that. In 1209 minutes he has made zero goal contributions.
