Lautaro Martinez’s future continues to hang in the balance between staying at Inter and moving to Barcelona according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter want to keep the 22-year-old Argentine striker who they see as plan A to partner Romelu Lukaku in attack and for this reason the Nerazzurri club are not up for giving any sort of large discount for him.

Inter want his €111 million release clause paid, failing that €90 million plus a player or two from Barcelona with Nelson Semedo and Junior Firpo both candidates for inclusion.

Lautaro is under contract with Inter through to the end of the 2022/23 season and it now remains to be seen whether Barcelona will meet Inter’s demands for him.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to add that the Blaugrana club have entered the race to sign RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, a player who Inter have seemingly identified as a potential replacement for Lautaro.
