Inter are pondering whether to offer Edinson Cavani a contract which would make him the highest paid player at the club according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset aired earlier this afternoon.

The Uruguayan national team striker’s contract with French giants Paris Saint Germain is set to expire at the end of next month and Inter are thinking about offering him a two year contract with an annual salary of €10 million net per season.

The report goes on to add that Cavani is not the only player that Inter are courting to bolster the attack with it adding that Inter are also getting closer to signing Napoli’s Dries Mertens, whose contract is due to expire at the end of next month too.

Inter have offered the Belgian national team player a two year contract with an annual salary of €5 million and the parties are now at the stage of discussing the sign-on bonus he will receive.
