Barcelona management remain convinced that now is the right time to sign Inter striker Lautaro Martinez according to a report on the online edition of Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The Blaugrana club’s management view the signing of Lautaro as a strategic one given he will be able to lead their line for at least the next ten years.

Lautaro has a €111 million release clause in his contract but this report reiterates that Barcelona do not want to pay that much and would instead insert some players to bring the cost of any deal down.

Reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that Barcelona have offered a bumper €10 million a year deal to the player, who has accepted the offer.

It remains to be seen whether the two clubs will end up striking a deal in the end given Inter’s reluctance to do a deal for the 22-year-old on anyone’s terms but their own.
