There are three key reasons as to why Inter are courting Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali according to a report from the online edition of Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The first reason is his suitability to Inter manager Antonio Conte’s system and the fact he can be a more than viable alternative to Marcelo Brozovic and also play alongside and support him too.

The second reason Inter are chasing the highly rated 20-year-old Italian national team midfielder is because he fits perfectly in line with the club’s transfer policy as he is young and Italian with plenty of potential and can play a part for the club in the medium to long term.

The third reason is that Inter want to close the gap with their arch rivals Juventus and believe that signing Tonali would send an important signal with regard to their intentions an opinion Inter president Steven Zhang is a big proponent of, the report concludes.

This season Tonali has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored one goal and provided a total of five assists for his teammates.
