No club has come forward and shown an interest in signing Joao Mario on a permanent basis from Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

The Portuguese national team midfielder is currently out on loan at Russian Premier League club Lokomotiv Moscow and although they have an option to buy him outright for €18 million, the club’s president has recently admitted that they cannot afford to buy him.

The report goes on to explain that Joao Mario would be allowed to leave Inter for just €14 million but other than some rather timid interest from Real Betis and Marseille, there is no other interest in the former Sporting CP player, who Inter spent a then club record €45 million to sign back in 2016.

It goes on to add that the most probable outcome for Joao Mario is another loan experience somewhere else next season.

Whilst in Russia he has made 15 appearances in which he has scored one goal and tallied four assists.
