RB Leipzig striker Yussuf Poulsen has admitted he has spoken with teammate Timo Werner regarding his future amid ongoing speculation in relation to his future.

Werner has been identified by Inter as a potential replacement for Lautaro Martinez, who continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona and he has also been linked with a number of other clubs, including Champions League holders Liverpool.

The 24-year-old forward has been one of the most prolific goalscorers in recent seasons and that has been no different this season with him having netted 27 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions to date.

“As I said to Werner , everyone has to choose their own future,” Danish international Poulsen remarked in an interview with Italian news outlet CalcioNews24.com.

“I can understand Christian Eriksen’s choice, he had been at Tottenham for many years playing great. Every now and then the moment comes when we need to have a change of scenery and take on new challenges.”

Poulsen proceed to big Inter up and believes his compatriot made the right choice by swapping Tottenham Hotspur for Inter back in the most recent January transfer window.

“Inter are a top Serie A club and are fighting with Juventus to win the Scudetto. Eriksen took a big step forward by choosing the Nerazzurri.”

Since his arrival at Inter, Eriksen has made eight appearances across all competitions, in which he has registered a single goal and single assist.
