Eddie Salcedo could be part of Inter’s first team squad next season according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Salcedo is currently out on loan at fellow Serie A side Hellas Verona but rather than be loaned out again next season, Inter manager Antonio Conte is considering the possibility of keeping him around to avoid a repeat of this season, where he was caught short during the months of October and January when injuries piled up.

The odds of Salcedo sticking around next season have increased after Inter missed out on the possible signing of Dries Mertens and Conte has been monitoring the Italian youth national team player’s progress.

Salcedo could in fact take the place of Sebastiano Esposito in the squad, who Inter intend to loan out to gain more first team experience next season.

Whilst out on loan at Hellas Verona, the 18-year-old has made 10 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored a single goal.
