Romelu Lukaku is the only striker certain of staying with Inter for next season and depending on Lautaro Martinez and whether he stays or goes, Inter could bring in two or three more strikers according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter have developed a keen interest in signing Paris Saint Germain’s Edinson Cavani, who should become a free agent from July 1, with the French club preferring the idea of signing Mauro Icardi permanently to extending Cavani’s contract with the club.

The former Napoli striker, as per the report, would accept a two year contract offer with a ‘fair’ annual salary.

The report goes on to add that RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner is now also open to the idea of a move to Italy. The German looked set for Liverpool, who remain in the lead, and Inter’s pursuit for him will depend on Lautaro and if he goes to Barcelona or not.

It goes on to conclude that Inter continue to demand Lautaro’s €111 million release clause is paid or they receive a high cash sum with a player attached with Inter’s currently preferring Junior Firpo to Nelson Semedo.
