Paris Saint Germain star Edinson Cavani is willing to accept a pay cut in order to return to Italy according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Cavani currently earns no less than €12 million a year in the French capital but has told his representatives he would be willing to take on a reduced salary if it means he will be able to return to playing in Italy.

The report explains that the player has told his representatives that he would be willing to accept €7 million a year plus bonuses.

Cavani’s current contract with the recently crowned Ligue 1 champions is due to expire at the end of next month and he will reportedly leave once his deal is up.

Inter have been strongly linked with making a move for the 33-year-old Uruguayan national team player and the report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to state that they are facing competition from Atletico Madrid for his signature.

This season Cavani has made 22 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored seven goals and provided three assists for his teammates.
