Inter will only sign Samuel Umtiti on loan if they are to do so according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

Inter are interested in the French national team centre back and reports have suggested that Barcelona would like to include him as part of a possible deal for Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.

Inter do not have any interest in acquiring him in this way nor do they wish to pay to sign him, mainly because they have some doubts about him due to his injury history.

Barcelona are however not too enthusiastic about the idea of letting the 2018 World Cup winner go on a temporary basis as they would like to offload him to raise funds to fund their Summer transfer window business.

This season Umtiti has been limited to just 16 appearances across all competitions to date with him having struggled with foot and knee injuries. In his time on the pitch he has made no goal contributions.
