Newcastle United are interested in signing Inter linked Edinson Cavani, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the Magpies are set to be taken over by a Saudi-backed group, with huge investments into the squad expected. The Premier League side are interested in many players, including Gareth Bale, Luka Jovic, Wilfried Zaha and Cavani.

Inter have been following the 33-year-old Uruguayan forward for some time now, considering him as a potential option to strengthen the club’s attack.

Cavani’s contract expires with PSG at the end of the season, the report continues, and a new contract doesn’t seem likely. Atletico Madrid and Inter Miami are also both incredibly keen to sign Cavani, and so he is set to be the centre of attention in the summer.

The 33-year-old has made 22 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1096 minutes. In that time, he has scored seven goals and provided three assists.
