Inter manager Antonio Conte is convinced that by signing Federico Chiesa Inter would be able to reduce the gap with Juventus but Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta is in no hurry to move for the Fiorentina winger according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

Marotta does not wish to invest €60 million into signing the highly rated 22-year-old Italian national team player, especially given he does not naturally fit into Conte’s 3-5-2 system.

Inter remain at the window for Chiesa but Marotta sees Fiorentina’s asking price as too high of a risk at the moment and instead of paying his asking price Inter could try and do a deal including players to bring down the cash element.

If Inter cannot get a good deal done with La Viola then the report warns that Conte will be forced to settle for someone other than Chiesa, who has seven goals and five assists in 26 appearances to date this season.
